As of October 29, 2008 Delta Airlines has acquired Northwest Airlines, Inc. to become the largest airline in the world. It will be operating as seperate operations for about 14 to 18 months as operations are put together. Watch for the planes to be painted quickly and service changes for the better on both carriers. The aircraft operated by the two carriers are: 747-400, 747-200, 777, 767-400, 767-300, 757-200, 757-300, 737, MD80, MD90, Airbus A330-200, Airbus A330-300, Airbus A320, Airbus A319, and finally the DC9-30, DC9-40, DC9-50.
