It's astounding, but did you know that an industry with nearly 100 years of history, that captured the world's attention as airlines were birthed, merged and died, and has grown to become the preferred mode of transportation does not have a dedicated national museum? Well we intend to change all that. Welcome to the National Museum of Commercial Aviation blog. Northwest DC10 over the Pacific
These photos were taken by a Hawaiian Airlines pilot of a Northwest Airlines DC10 a few years ago. This picture is dedicated to Northwest Airlines. On January 31st the last Northwest Airlines call sign was used in the Air Traffic Control system. From now on all flights are Delta Airlines. Northwest was the oldest airline name in continuous use in the U.S. Goodbye Northwest Airlines.
